my name is ahva, i'm a self-taught plant-based chef living on unceded & occupied tongva land (aka los angeles). i’m deeply grateful to those who have come before me, & whose footsteps i hope to fill. they have loved & cared for our beautiful earth, always giving more than taking, & tending to this land & its critters with sweet adoration ~♡~
my culinary journey is deeply grounded in ayurveda, in which i explore & share food as medicine. this connection to food & the way it heals our bodies & the environment, has been so nourishing & fulfilling for me.
much of my inspiration comes from my south asian roots & the sweet memories of waking up in the mornings to an aroma of spices, as my mom prepared something special for us. the harmonious mmmm’s after each bite resonate with the love & care she infuses into every creation. i carry her teachings with me & feel warm in my belly just thinking about it. ✿♥‿♥✿
since may 2024, i’ve been part of the advanced farmer training program at the sarvodaya institute, learning about regenerative practices. this includes soil care, seed starting, plant propagation, plant care, farm tending, veggie & fruit harvesting, & irrigation maintenance.
i specialize in creating personalized menus and meal plans tailored to individual dietary needs for people, families, retreats, & pop-ups. my recipes are ingrained in sacred south asian traditions and ancient ayurvedic principles. whether you're interested in exploring new flavors, have specific dietary preferences, or have a busy lifestyle, i'd love to be your source of nourishment. ‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚.
i’m 1/2 of aural pleasure, which is an experimental archive & dinner service series that explores the connections between sustenance & sound. through processed field recordings, live performances, carefully curated menus, & mixes, aural pleasure transmits a nuanced intersection of soundscapes & culinary offerings. aural pleasure is an invitation to revisit the sensorial experience of cultivating & preparing food, as well as the nourishing qualities of arranging & performing music. ༻❁༺
